SO much more has to be done. But this is what we did today. Next session hint: more color & Star Wars.
I’ve gotten questions about it. So here ya go. Not 100% done though. 2 more sessions starting next week! Here’s my Angels & Airwaves inspired full sleeve with hints of my childhood/interests. Enjoy!
First dates should consist of going to an Angels and Airwaves concert together. That’d be fuckin’ awesome.
Came home from a horrible day at work to this! My Angels & Airwaves tix for the festival in DC! Who’s going!? I want to meet AvA fans!

I dislike when people bitch and moan about Neighborhoods (blink’s latest album) not being like “Dude Ranch” and that it’s too AvAish etc. Let’s think about this guys, Mark/Tom & Travis lost alot of people during their hiatus like Lil Chris & the whole plane incident for Travis. They weren’t going to write another “Dude Ranch” or “Enema” after such situations. Could you write a sappy, up beat song if your best friend or mom died recently? Doubt it. They also have grown up age wise.
Lastly, though +44 was more pop punkish than alt./stadium rock that AvA is, it still had its own ambiance with the keyboards and all. Neighborhoods is a perfect mix of what blink is with where the guys stand in their lives now. My defense for the above criticism on Neighborhoods is this: BLINK COULD HAVE NEVER GOTTEN BACK TOGETHER AND FURTHERMORE TOURED. Be thankful they’re a band again & enjoy the music.
PS: if you are saying Tom is still a douche for not caring about blink, being two diff people, etc. Well the man himself has said that he loves both bands, that it is the best of both worlds and that he is two diff. individuals in each but he really wants to succeed with AvA. I can’t blame him. AvA reaches me on a more grandiose/spiritual level that blink will never be able to. AvA’s ideas are more artistic too. The movies, books, etc. speak volumes. I personally feel though blink is grown up & that they still have the pop punk edge, they are still juvenile in a way. So having said that, if it came down to blink never returning (before Neighborhoods or even now after its release), I could live with that. Judge me all you fuckin’ want. But my HEART lies within AvA while my YOUTH lies within blink182.
2 more sessions until my full sleeve will be done. Its based heavily off AvA & my childhood memories. Here’s a little preview.
I don’t know why this girl is upset I don’t like her. Simply put, she had never seen & had no desire to see Star Wars, didn’t know who Angels & Airwaves or Death Cab For Cutie were. & when I asked what’s her fav. band she replied “I dont have a favorite.” & furthermore when I asked “then what kind of music do you like?” She replied, “Anything on the radio.” SO MUCH FAIL.
