I dislike when people bitch and moan about Neighborhoods (blink’s latest album) not being like “Dude Ranch” and that it’s too AvAish etc. Let’s think about this guys, Mark/Tom & Travis lost alot of people during their hiatus like Lil Chris & the whole plane incident for Travis. They weren’t going to write another “Dude Ranch” or “Enema” after such situations. Could you write a sappy, up beat song if your best friend or mom died recently? Doubt it. They also have grown up age wise.

Lastly, though +44 was more pop punkish than alt./stadium rock that AvA is, it still had its own ambiance with the keyboards and all. Neighborhoods is a perfect mix of what blink is with where the guys stand in their lives now. My defense for the above criticism on Neighborhoods is this: BLINK COULD HAVE NEVER GOTTEN BACK TOGETHER AND FURTHERMORE TOURED. Be thankful they’re a band again & enjoy the music.

PS: if you are saying Tom is still a douche for not caring about blink, being two diff people, etc. Well the man himself has said that he loves both bands, that it is the best of both worlds and that he is two diff. individuals in each but he really wants to succeed with AvA. I can’t blame him. AvA reaches me on a more grandiose/spiritual level that blink will never be able to. AvA’s ideas are more artistic too. The movies, books, etc. speak volumes. I personally feel though blink is grown up & that they still have the pop punk edge, they are still juvenile in a way. So having said that, if it came down to blink never returning (before Neighborhoods or even now after its release), I could live with that. Judge me all you fuckin’ want. But my HEART lies within AvA while my YOUTH lies within blink182.

Woke up to the news that instead of meeting just Tom Delonge as originally planned, I will be meeting THE ENTIRE BAND OF ANGELS & AIRWAVES on Nov.14th! You can say I’m having a pretty good morning so far…now, the guys can (finally) see my rib tattoo (last post below) and my half sleeve (not shown, yet) up close and personal…considering Tom’s only seen it when I’m on someone’s shoulders at the blink shows the past 2 yrs…

Just purchased the new album, LOVE partII, on iTunes. Oh. My. God. I am so happy with this album. This band makes me happy & that’s all that matters. 

It’s official. I’m meeting Tom Delonge, for the 5th time, in 2 weeks. Now he can finally see my LOVE rib tattoo and half sleeve up close. Unreal.

The band hasn’t released anything OFFICIAL but this keeps popping up on a few sites online. I’ll believe it when I hear the band announce things OFFICIALLY, but what are your thoughts? He’s 23. My own opinion is that if this IS in fact AvA’s new drummer, I’ll give him a chance of course, anyone can play another drummers parts, but I feel on a personal level, NO ONE can replace Atom. Another note is maybe AvA will promote themselves as a 3 piece like how 30stm’s does it along with other bands (Paramore before they got the new guitarist, you get the idea) when they lose a significant member for the time being… That’s just me though……..heres the link
